Here’s a little DIY for ya!
I moved in with my sister a couple months back. I had no bedroom furniture and had been looking at garage sales for something to snag and fix up to make my own.
While at work a coworker mentioned wanting to get rid of some old dressers and that she would deliver them! SCORE!
They had such character with awesome antique handles, none like I had seen.
I Pinterest often and after seeing the latest trend of chalk paint, I was dying to use some. I found a recipe to make your own. This sounded way cheaper than buying so I looked one up and went with it!
The recipe I used was 1½ cup of paint, ¼ cup warm water, and ½ cup Plaster of Paris. You can find the recipe through a Google search or on my Pinterest!
I would recommend following the original recipe and mixing, as needed, the longer it sits the thicker it gets. Be sure to mix well prior to painting!
I took off all the hardware and set aside for reassembling later. I also wiped down the dressers so no dust would get caught in the paint.
Two thick coats of chalk paint later they looked amazing! This was the easiest project, no sanding needed done, just apply the paint. We waited for them to dry and then put them all back together. We spent a Saturday tackling the project; I am in love with them and this color, totally worth it!
